Spend a delicious day at the beach in near Nanaimo B.C. with commercial fisherman Ficus Chan of Crab Bellingham (IG @crabbellingham), Chef Robin Kort of Swallow Tail Culinary Adventures and other local chefs and seafood specialists learning and eating local clams.

CLAMMING 101 WITH FICUS CHAN
How to Dig for Clams Talk & Demo: Clam ID, Tools, Safety, then it’s time to dig some clams!

2:30-4:30 COOKING WITH CLAMS
Learn how to cook clams with tastings – Cooking demonstrations featuring local chefs. Learn how to make dishes with different techniques from sashimi to smoking seafood.

  • Talk about purging, prep, cleaning clams etc.
  • Oyster tasting + other sea delicacies
  • In the evening, guests can cook their shellfish if they like or head home with their catch.

    Guests must purchase their own shellfish licenses (day $6 or annual $22 tidal water fishing licenses)
