Learn how to safely ID edible wild mushrooms
Let’s look for mushrooms!
This foray into Malcolm Knapp research forest will focus on how to identify wild mushrooms like porcini, chanterelle, lobster mushrooms, wild oysters or any that we find on our stroll. Our ever-popular “Wild Edible Identification Trips” are easy forest walking trips with an expert myco-guide through BC’s forest to identify whatever we find and they book up fast!
You’ll keep learning even after you finish the mushroom 101 class, once you learn the basics our instructors are happy to help you identify your future fungal finds. There are literally 1000’s of mushrooms in BC, this class could be the start of a lifelong passion.
Note: this is not a live cooking class or a harvesting trip, the class will study edible mushrooms in their habitat and discuss ethical and sustainable harvesting.
